London Fashion Week 2017 - DAY 1: ANISSA AIDA AW17

After recently locating myself from Melbourne to London, I was ready to get into the merry-go-round that is London Fashion Week. London as a city has such great energy and boy did I have a spin alright! I attended about 15 shows for #LFW, and let me tell you that my legs have never had such a good work out this new year. Running from one show to the next on the tube was a triumph on its own, and happy to report that I am now the underground tube expert (citymapper help ofcourse!).

Day 1: Anissa Aida Autumn/Winter 2017 Ready-to-wear Collection

Anissa Aida is a womenswear label based in NYC. The presentation was called ‘Africa through the looking glass’.

Absolutely love the autumn hues of the collection! What I loved about it was the versatility of it all. For example, you could easily pair the striped shirt, brown wide-legged pants with the maroon jacket.  The styling point of view of crimped hair with black lipstick pushed styling to go slightly edgy without  overpowering the collection.

My favourite look was the above picture!

Vogue Fashion Night Out, Melbourne 2015

Spring is definitely in the air!

In a city like this one, with all the Melbourne Spring Fashion Week banners around and runway tents smack bang in the cbd, you find out it is Spring pretty quickly -  all GO signs for your pastels. This year Vogue Fashion Night Out(VFNO) took place on a Friday night in conjunction with Melbourne Spring Fashion Week. Turning city laneways into runways (how very Melbourne!) , cotton candy, popcorn and gelato, the night had a festival vibe to it.  Emporium Mall converted Little Bourke St. into a beautiful fashion runway with some serious floral installations by LooseLeaf. The city was buzzing with excitement and plenty of complimentary drinks and canapés in almost every store and boutique along side nail art, photography sessions and makeovers.

Happy tummies = Happy customers!

As part of VFNO, I also attended a styling session hosted by Nadia Fairfax of the Fairfax Journal, who talked about the new collection by Viktoria and Woods in David Jones. From what I noticed from the entire night, pastel blues, whites and lilacs are definitely colours to look out for the upcoming season. In the mean time, up your vitamins game this Spring everyone!

QV Hideaway Salon Show

As part of the Melbourne Spring Fashion Week 2014, the QV Hideaway Salon Show was a fantastic curated event held within a whimsical decor setting, serving to-die-for cocktails and dessert platters throughout the night. The highlight of the salon show was not only the fashion, but also dance routines performed by dancers dressed as animals, and in full body paint. Here are some of the snapshots of the night.
